Abstract
Features a panel discussion consisting of two tauiwi and two Indigenous women academics and held as part of the Tertiary Education Union’s (TEU) Academic Freedom Conference 2021. Presents their discussion on the limits on academic freedom and the costs of speaking out for wāhine Māori, wāhine Pasifika and trans women. Highlights the responsibility of tertiary institutions to enable all academics to contribute to public discourse and to protect staff experiencing harassment.
