Abstract
Explores teaching and learning within a Wānanga context. Provides some insight into how Māori can ensure that the distinctive ethos within Te Wānanga o Aotearoa (TWoA) remain that of indigenous knowledge and culture. Discusses the origin of the Māori expression 'kua taka te kapa' and whether the original thoughts associated with this idiom stem from a western context.
