I am an inter-disciplinary researcher driven to understand the nature of social value and human wellbeing, with the aim of contributing implementable insights on how we can enhance quality of life for all. I have been privileged to have an instrumental role in the development of He Ara Waiora, the mātauranga Māori wellbeing framework adopted by The Treasury that is now being applied at a macro level across government policy development and attracting interest from global audiences, including the OECD. I am currently focused on explicating and evidencing social and systems change mechanisms, including methodological innovation to identify causal pathways. Over the last 10 years I have worked with a number of Iwi, philanthropic and government organisations on social impact analysis and measurement. Ihave also published in the area of Indigenous development, social innovation and entrepreneurship. As an academic with extensive experience as a practitioner and in leadership roles, I am also adept at delivering complex projects and value nationwide relationships within Iwi Māori and government sectors.
